The abscissa is the coordinate along the x-axis. The ordinate is the coordinate along the y-axis. A point is written as (x; y).
4 quadrants: I (x>0,y>0), II (x<0,y>0), III (x<0,y<0), IV (x>0,y<0).
d = √((x₂−x₁)²+(y₂−y₁)²). For points on the same axis: |x₂−x₁|.
