Practice trainer on the topic "Trapezoid" for Grade 8. Trapezoid properties, midsegment, problems on inscribed quadrilaterals — with instant feedback.
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with exactly two parallel sides (the bases) and two non-parallel sides (the legs). The parallel sides are called the bases of the trapezoid.
Create assignments for grades 5–11, run online competitions, and track student results in real time.
In a trapezoid, the two bases are parallel. In an isosceles trapezoid, the legs are equal, the base angles are equal, and the diagonals are equal to each other.
The midsegment of a trapezoid connects the midpoints of the legs and equals half the sum of the bases: m = (a + b) / 2. The midsegment is parallel to the bases.
Area of a trapezoid = (sum of bases) × height / 2, or S = (a + b) × h / 2.
